ISF Guidelines on the Application of the ILO Maritime Labour Convention

2nd Edition 2012 | £95.00 with CD

The ILO Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) entered into force in August 2013. In order to help shipping companies and crews ensure compliance with the Convention, ISF - which helped negotiate the text of the MLC on behalf of maritime employers - has updated and expanded its comprehensive guide. The ISF guide addresses in detail the obligations of ship operators such as seafarers’ contracts, working hours, health and safety, crew accommodation and welfare. It also provides guidance on MLC Certification (including the Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance), as well as a comprehensive checklist for compliance with the MLC. This second edition is accompanied by a CD containing full text of the guide (with a ‘search’ function), the MLC text itself, and other useful documentation.
