Allister Paterson is Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of CSL Group. He joined CSL as President of Canada Steamship Lines in 2015, was appointed EVP and Chief Operating Officer of CSL Group in 2017 before taking on his current role in 2019.

Through ICS, the Canadian marine industry works actively with other ICS members and regulators to develop great solutions to ensure the future of sustainable shipping.

Mr. Paterson has over 25 years of executive level experience in the airline and shipping industries, most recently as Chief Commercial Officer of Finnair. Prior to joining Finnair, he was President and CEO of Seaway Marine Transport.
Mr. Paterson began his career at Pacific Western Airlines (predecessor to Canadian Airlines) before joining Air New Zealand in senior roles including Acting-CEO in 1998. Prior to joining Seaway Marine Transport, he was the President and CEO of Air Canada Vacations.

Mr. Paterson is Chair of the Chamber of Marine Commerce in Canada and Board Member of the International Chamber of Shipping. He is a Director of the Standard Club and SCALA insurance syndicates and Green Marine. His previous appointments include the Boards of both Star Alliance and oneWorld, and Chair of Gymnastics Canada.
