Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi is responsible for the development and implementation of ADNOC Logistics & Services’ business growth strategy. As Chief Executive Officer since April 2018, he spearheaded the evolution of ADNOC L&S from a successful merger of its three legacy organizations (ADNATCO-NGSCO, Esnaad and Irshad) to a record-breaking listing on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, strengthening ADNOC L&S’ position as a global energy maritime logistics champion and the dedicated and vital logistics arm for ADNOC Group.

Prior to that, Capt. Al Masabi served as Executive Vice President at Abu Dhabi Ports and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Terminals, where he was responsible for Abu Dhabi Ports’ entire day-to-day operations. He also served as Vice President at Khalifa Port, where he was directly responsible for the operational readiness during the port’s construction phase, resulting in Khalifa Port being awarded the ‘Port of the Year’ title by The Maritime Standard in 2014 and 2015.

Before joining Abu Dhabi Ports in 2009, Capt. Al Masabi was Fleet Operations Manager with the National Gas Shipping Company, an ADNOC Group company. Prior to that, he was a Senior Marine Superintendent with Gulf Energy Maritime. Between 1995 and 2006, he served with NGSCO, where he rose through the ranks on board the company’s LNG/oil tankers, from his cadetship program to Master/ Chief Officer.

He is Chairman of AW Shipping, an ADNOC L&S joint venture with Wanhua Chemical Group, Chairman of the Emirates Shipping Association and Board Member of the International Chamber of Shipping.

Capt. Al Masabi holds an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management from the Higher Colleges of Technology and obtained his Master Mariner certification from South Tyneside College. He is a recipient of the Chairman of the Executive Council Medal in the Executive Director category as part of the Abu Dhabi Government Excellence Awards.
