JF Coelho is Secretary General of Associação de Armadores da Marinha de Comércio (AAMC) as from 1999.

Previous activities include

Graduated by Escola Náutica Infante D. Henrique, started his duties with Shipowner SOPONATA – Sociedade Portuguesa de Navios Tanques, during all his career up to Captain (1959/1977)

He was at the service of this company in the capacity, successively, of Head of the Organization and Methods Department (1977/1981), Director of the Personnel and Formation Department (1979/1983, Director of the Fleet Department (1984/1986), Advisor to the Management Council (1986/1992), Director of ARGO – Empresa de Recrutamento e Gestão de Tripulações, subsidiary to SOPONATA (1992/2000) and Advisor for the Shipping Industry of the Management Council (2000/2001). He retired at this date.

During his career, in the capacity of SOPONATA’s representative, he was Board Member of ADENIDH – Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Escola Náutica Infante D. Henrique – (1989/1993) and President of its Fiscal Council (1994/1999), as well as, Board Member of AAMC – Associação de Armadorees da Marinha de Comércio and member of the Plenary of the Portuguese Branch of Centro Europeu da Empresa Pública (CEEP) (1989/1993).

During the period of 2001 to 2009 he was Secretary General of CPL – Comunidade Portuária de Lisboa.
