John Bradshaw is Technical Director at the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS).
He represents the interests of ship owners at the IMO and works on a range of issues including marine fuels, emissions to air and energy efficiency. Previous experience includes working for Lloyd’s Register where he a Principal Technical Specialist and technical authority for engines.
John started his career as an engineering cadet with P&O Containers and worked on a range of vessels, including working for British Antarctic Survey before leaving the sea to work in land based electricity generation in 2004 where he worked with gas turbines, gaseous fuels, biomass and emissions abatement technologies. In 2011, missing the world of shipping he left his role as a strategic development engineer for one of the major gas and electricity companies to join LR. A chartered engineer and Fellow of both the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology he studied emissions and emissions control for his master’s degree.
