ICS Flag State Performance Table 2017/18

Summarises data available in the public domain in terms of Port State Control records, ratification of international Conventions, and IMO meeting attendance. It is intended to encourage shipowners to maintain a dialogue with their flag administrations to help bring about any improvements that might be necessary in the interests of safety, the environment and decent working conditions.

Ballast Water Management – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments, 2004 (BWM Convention) entered into force on 8 September 2017. These FAQs are intended to raise awareness regarding key aspects of the BWM Convention (as well as relevant United States requirements) and assist in achieving compliance.
