European Community Shipowners' Associations (ECSA) is the trade association representing the national shipowners' associations of the EU and Norway. Through their membership from national associations across Europe and Norway, ECSA represents close to 99% of the EEA fleet or about 20% of the world fleet.

As one of the important shipping organizations in the world, ASA consists of seven members from the shipowners’ associations of Asia Pacific nations, i.e. Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei and Federation of ASEAN Shipowners’ Associations (FASA), consisting of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
To ensure smooth flows of international trade, the KSA has fully participated in activities of international organisation as well as the world’s private shipping institutions, and concentrated its energy on shipping-related international conventions and treaties to be legislated (revised) in a reasonable manner. In addition, it has made a tremendous effort to help conserve the marine environment and enhance maritime safety.

Over the past 60 years, HKSOA has grown into one of the world’s largest Shipowner Associations, its members owning, managing and operating a fleet with a combined carrying capacity of over 178 million deadweight tonnes.
