The purpose of the ICS CII Data Collection System is to support the International Maritime Organization during the formal review of the CII rating system, due to be completed by 1 January 2026. The Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) is within a formal review, which is due to complete by 1st January 2026. During this period, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has invited interested Member States and international organisations to collect data and submit information and proposals for CII system improvements.
ICS wishes to engage constructively with this process, and therefore invites shipowners and ship managers to submit data via the below forms, which are for the 2023 reporting period.
