In co-operation with the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the Filipino Shipowners Association (FSA) and the Maritime Industry Authority of the Philippines (MARINA) have launched a special new Philippines edition of the widely used ICS/ISF Training Record Books. The four existing ICS/ISF books (for deck officer cadets, engine officer cadets, deck rating trainees and engine rating trainees) have been fully updated to match the competences required under the ‘Manila’ amendments to the IMO Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW 2010).

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has raised concerns with governments about preparations worldwide for issuing tens of thousands of seafarers with new certificates for security-related training by 1 January, as required by the 2010 amendments to the IMO Convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW 2010).

This version was withdrawn in January 2022 and replaced by version three. This brochure, published by the International Maritime Pilots’ Association (IMPA) and ICS/ISF, aims to remind shipping companies and seafarers of the vital need to ensure that ladders used for pilot transfers are always rigged correctly. The brochure is also supported by the International Group of P&I Clubs, BIMCO, CLIA, Intercargo, IPTA, Intertanko, OCIMF, SIGTTO, ITF, IFSMA and the Nautical Institute.

The International Shipping Federation (ISF) has updated its widely-used On Board Training Record Book for Engine Cadets to meet the latest requirements governing seafarers’ training emanating from the STCW 2010 Manila Amendments.
