Ms. Chao is the Founder & Chairman of SeaKapital Limited, the Immediate Past President of BIMCO, and the former Chairman of Wah Kwong.

She is a leader in the global maritime industry with influential power in Hong Kong, Asia and the international shipping arena. She was the past Chairman of Hong Kong Shipowners’ Association between 2015-2017 and Chairman of Asian Shipowners’ Association during the same period. Furthermore, she also served as an inaugural member of the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board under the Transport and Housing Bureau of the HKSAR Government as a representative for the Hong Kong Shipowners Association.

In particular, Sabrina is very interested in promoting the maritime industry to the next generations. In November 2022, Ms Chao is appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the Council Member of the Vocational Training Council. She is presently the Chairman of External Advisory Group of the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is also a general committee member of The Sailors and Mission to Seafarers Hong Kong since 2019. She was the Chairman of Maritime Services Training Board under
Vocational Training Council from April 2017 to March 2023. With her great contributions in the maritime industry, she was named Honorary President by the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) since 2009, the Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA) Commodore in 2018 and an Honorary Fellow of Vocational Training Council in 2022.

In July 2022, she is awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government for her contribution to the maritime industry in Hong Kong. In addition, Ms. Chao is the Honorary Consul of Norwegian Honorary Consulate in Hong Kong & Macau. In May 2023 Ms Chao is appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the member of the Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development. Ms. Chao is a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Jiangsu Province; a member of the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK); Young Global Leaders 2014 awarded by the World Economic Forum; Member of the Council and Court of Lingnan University; Executive Vice Chairman of Federation of Jiangsu Community Organization and Permanent Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Jiangsu Youth.
