Mark Tipping is a Chartered Engineer with over 25 years of experience delivering complex and innovative maritime and offshore projects. Since joining Lloyd’s Register in 2002, he has held a range of technical and leadership roles across the sector.
Mark played a key role as Engineering Manager for the groundbreaking Prelude FLNG project and was instrumental in introducing risk-based inspection methodologies for floating assets within Classification regimes. He also led initiatives to integrate remote systems and digital twins into Lloyd’s Register’s Classification and verification processes.
As Global Power to X Director, Mark is positioning Lloyd’s Register as a leading player in the application of nuclear technologies across the marine and offshore industries, building on LR’s long-standing assurance role for the UK’s nuclear submarine fleet. In addition to his role at LR, he serves as a Board Member of the Nuclear Energy Maritime Organisation (NEMO).
