Savas Sezen is a Senior CFD Specialist at Lloyd’s Register, working in the areas of ship hydrodynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), propulsion performance, propeller optimisation, and underwater radiated noise (URN).
He holds a PhD in Naval Architecture from the University of Strathclyde, where his research focused on the prediction of underwater radiated noise from marine propellers using numerical methods.
At Lloyd’s Register, Savas supports ship designers, owners, and operators on a range of hydrodynamic and ship performance projects. His work includes propulsion performance assessment, cavitation analysis, propeller optimisation, underwater radiated noise evaluation, and the application of CFD to practical engineering challenges.
Savas has authored and co-authored a number of technical publications in the fields of ship hydrodynamics, propeller cavitation, and underwater radiated noise. He is actively involved in industry activities related to vessel efficiency, environmental performance, and emerging maritime regulations.
