Arjan Kreuze is Compliance and Safety Behavioural Manager of Stolt Tankers BV, the operator of the world’s largest and most sophisticated fleet of chemical and parcel tankers. Manging around 150 ships under different state flags. In his current role he leads a group of masters who are responsible for carrying out compliance assessments onboard, and based on this provided training, coaching and mentoring.

The focus of the training is on making behavioural changes that will lead to improvements in safety, health and efficiency at Stolt Tankers. He is also responsible for leading the organisation’s Behavioural Safety program.

Arjan strives to continuously improve the way he works with a strong focus on safety and health. He is particularly interested is in the specific causes of accidents, related to human behaviour.

Arjan has been working in the tanker industry for the past 35 years in various functions and also represents the Dutch Ship owner’s association.

He started his career at sea as 3rd officer and progressed to Master. He subsequently moved to an office-based role and has worked in various management roles related to human resources, training, safety and security. Arjan studied at the Nautical College in Amsterdam. He has also completed several courses related to safety, security and change management.
