Edgar Durbin is the Media Relations Manager at the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), supporting the delivery of the organisation’s communications strategy across a wide range of media channels and stakeholders. His work focuses on enhancing the profile and visibility of ICS and the global shipping industry, reaching the wider public, non-maritime policy-makers and opinion formers.

Edgar plays a key role in promoting greater awareness of key industry issues, including the vital contribution of shipping to the global economy, its environmental performance, and the commercial priorities of ICS. He is particularly passionate about engaging with the press and is committed to clear, effective communications.

He generates domestic and international media coverage through the proactive placement of stories, provision of commentary, distribution of press releases, and by arranging interviews and drafting features for journalists.

Prior to joining ICS, Edgar worked in the higher education and technology solutions sectors, gaining experience in strategic communications across complex organisations. He holds a BA in Journalism from the University of the West of England, graduating in 2019.
