Iason Kontochristos is a Technical Specialist within Lloyd’s Register’s Marine Performance Services, working in the Maritime Asset and Operational Performance team. He holds a master’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and an MSc in Shipping Management from the University of Piraeus (UNIPI). He has been involved in a wide range of consultancy projects focusing on compliance with IMO and EU decarbonization regulations, including EEXI, CII, EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime. His responsibilities include the development and review of technical reports, compliance tools, and client-facing solutions on energy efficiency and emissions reduction. His prior experience includes research focused on structural integrity and decarbonization policy.
