A former Merchant Marine officer, Jean Zanuttini devoted part of his career to seafaring before turning to naval engineering. His experience aboard the three-masted bark Belem, where he served as a second mate, played a key role in strengthening his belief in the potential of wind as an energy source for maritime transport.
In 2011, alongside several professionals from the merchant marine, he helped launch Neoline with the goal of developing a new model of maritime freight transport powered primarily by wind. Neoline was officially founded in 2015.
Currently President of Neoline, Jean Zanuttini is leading the company’s growth and the deployment of its first fleet of ships. With the Neoliner Origin, a 136-meter-long roll-on/roll-off cargo ship, he and the Neoline’s team are bringing to life a vision of maritime transport that combines sail propulsion, logistical efficiency, and sustainability.
