Since April 2017, Mrs. Katerina Peppa has held the position of Director General of the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS). She joined UGS in 1993 and served for several years as executive advisor at the International / European Affairs Department before becoming Deputy-General Director for five years prior to taking up the post of Director General.

She has represented the Union of Greek Shipowners in several international organizations such as: the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), in which she is also an alternate member of its Board of Directors, as well as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

She has also participated as expert adviser of the Greek delegation in international governmental fora such as: the IMO Legal Committee, the International Oil Pollution Compensation (IOPC) Funds and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Moreover, she served as a member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) the period 2015-2016.

She has a legal background, with a law degree from Athens University of Law (1991) and a Master’s degree in Shipping and European Community Law from University of Southampton (1992). Mrs. Peppa is married and mother of two children.
