Peter Maasland works as Deepsea Operations Manager for one of the leading chemical tankers companies. Stolt Tankers  owns and operates over 100 chemical tankers. Mr. Maasland started his career at sea. By the time he left for a shore based career he had been in command of one of the more complicated chemical tankers. Next to various positions in operational roles he spent three years in a maritime assurance position with Shell.

Mr Maasland holds a MSc in Maritime Economics and Logistics from Erasmus university and has concluded a post graduate study in Maritime Law. In recent years he has been active in best practise publications for tanker industry as chairman for the rewrite of Tanker Safety Guide Chemicals and cowriter for ISGOTT.
