Rome – Salvatore d’Amico currently serves as Fleet Director at d’Amico Società di Navigazione S.p.A., a leading Italian shipping group operating on a global scale.

During his academic career, he gained initial professional experience at JP Morgan in Geneva, before returning to the d’Amico Group, where he completed a structured internal training programme, developing cross-functional expertise across several shipping departments.

After earning a degree in Economics, he spent two years at the Group’s Dublin office, before returning to Rome, where he now oversees fleet management at Group level.

In addition to his executive role, Salvatore d’Amico holds various board positions within Group companies, including d’Amico Ship Management, Ishima and Sirius Ship Management. Since 2024 he has been Chairman of Ishima, of which he was CEO from 2013 to 2024.

In 2018, he was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Liberia in Civitavecchia (Italy), with his jurisdiction extended in 2020 to include the province of Grosseto.

At an industry level, in 2021 he was elected by the Italian Shipowners’ Association (Confitarma) as Chairman of the Young Shipowners Group for a four-year term (2021–2025). From 2025, he is president of International Transport and Logistics, International Regulations and Organizations, and Security and also sits on the association’s board.

Also in 2021, he was appointed Board Member of the Liberian Shipowners’ Council (LSC). In 2022, he was nominated by RINA (Registro Italiano Navale) as Chairman of the Worldwide Decarbonization Committee, bringing together over 120 shipowners to address maritime emissions challenges.

He also serves as a Board Member of CIRM (International Radio Medical Centre) and as a Council Member of INTERTANKO.

Most recently, in April 2026, he was appointed Focal Lead for the Mediterranean Group within the Shell Maritime Partners in Safety (MPinS) Programme.
