Uffe V. Ernst-Frederiksen is Head of Cargo Management at A.P. Moller – Maersk.
He first joined Maersk in 2000, was Coordinator, Senior Vessel Operations Manager, Second Officer, First Officer, Chief Officer and also General Manager. In previous roles he had worked for Lauritzen Kosan, LPG tankers, East Asiatic Shipping, Bulk carriers, Passenger ferries, Tramp freighters and the Royal Danish Navy.
“Shipping is in my opinion one of the most dynamic industries there is. Irrespective of job function and whether or not the entry point is at sea or on shore, you can be certain that what you do is not only important for the business but also from a trade globalization point of view.
“Although there are repetitive tasks as in all jobs, you can be certain that there are no two days that are exactly the same. I have in my time in shipping never had a boring day and when thinking back on a day that has passed, always been able to identify at least one conversation or event that has prompted a new insight.”

Uffe holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School.
