Valentina Keys is a Senior Associate in the Environment team at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP and has been with the firm since 2008.

Prior to that she trained at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP.

Valentina regularly advises clients on various aspects of the sustainability/climate change agenda and the transition to a low carbon, waste and resources economy.

She is a regular speaker at international green shipping events and advises on a range of topics from compliance with sulphur content requirements in marine fuels, ship and crew safety, exhaust gas cleaning systems and abatement technology, responsible ship recycling and ballast water management to voluntary initiatives such as the Getting to Zero Coalition, Poseidon Principles, Sea Cargo Charter, sustainable ports and mandatory carbon reporting of emissions for ships.

She is currently building business in advisory work which is focused on legal drivers, risks and opportunities brought about by ESG and the decarbonisation agenda in shipping and the wider environmental offering that impacts all other sectors of the economy.

Valentina was named “Rising Star” in Legal 500, 2019 and 2020.
