Born in 1974 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, Edouard Louis-Dreyfus is a graduate of the University of Paris X Nanterre (Law and English diplomas) and of the French Business School of Rouen (ESC). He started his career at Texaco in London as a trader in liquid gas and refined products. In 2002, he joined the Louis Dreyfus Group in London as a trader in sugar and coffee.

His maritime career started in 2004 when he joined the shipping division of the Group in Paris.

In 2006, he took charge of the capesize desk of LD Bulk, a subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs specialised in bulk transportation. His family acquired Louis Dreyfus Armateurs in 2007. Edouard Louis-Dreyfus became a member of the Executive Committee and Vice-President of the Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group in 2009. He was appointed as Chief Executive Officer Business in July 2010.

On 1st July 2015, Edouard Louis-Dreyfus became President of the Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Group and President of the Executive Board of Pacemar, the Group’s holding company.

-Auditor of the 74th Defence Policy session of the French Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence (IHEDN) in 2022

Edouard Louis-Dreyfus played rugby at national level for CASG club and SCUF and for regional selection. Hunting and tennis are among his other hobbies.
