Dr Kanghyun Song(1968) studied Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at Seoul National University for both bachelor degree and PhD degree(2013). He has been employed by Korean Navy before his involvement with Korean Register. Dr Song, senior vice president of KR, is currently Head of Decarbonization Ship & Offshore Research Center, working for IMO DCS/EU MRV, alternative fuels, onboard carbon capture systems, energy saving devices, etc. Dr Song is currently a board member of The Society of Naval Architects of Korea, Korean Society of Marine Engineering, ISSC committee and IACS Decarbonization Panel. He is actively working as the head of the Overseas Hydrogen Import Transportation Group of KOREA and standardization working group of Hydrogen Ship Technology Forum.
