Tim Springett is a Policy Director at the UK Chamber of Shipping, specialising in employment, health and safety and legal issues.  He attended his first ILO meeting in 1994 and led the UK shipowner delegation throughout the negotiations leading to the adoption of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.  Tim has also participated in ICS delegations to IMO, most notably the 2010 Manila conference that adopted revisions to the STCW Convention.  Tim has a Master’s degree in International Maritime Law from the World Maritime University and chaired the ECSA Social Affairs Committee from 2015 to 2022.
