FuelEU Maritime – Avoiding Unintended Consequences
FuelEU Maritime is an important initiative by the European Commission to support efforts to decarbonise international shipping. It is expected to involve proposals for EU legislation during 2021, including regulations on the carbon content of marine fuel, which could have significant implications for both EU and non-EU ship operators and the global bunker supply industry.
This preliminary report has been commissioned by ECSA and ICS, in order to inform discussion on this critically important topic with policy makers and other stakeholders.
