Outcomes from the MEPC Extraordinary Session Webinar
The International Chamber of Shipping hosted a webinar on 30 October 2025 to review the outcomes of the Marine Environment Protection Committee Extraordinary Session (MEPC/ES) and the Intersessional Working Group on Reduction of GHG Emissions from Ships (ISWG-GHG) held on 14-17 October and 20-24 October, respectively.

The webinar was moderated by John Adams, Chairman of Navguide Solutions; Advisor to the BSA Board; Chair of the ICS Long Term (GHG) Measures Working Group, and the panel included Simon Bennett, ICS Deputy Secretary General, Thomas A. Kazakos, ICS Secretary General and Sveinung Oftedal, Chief Negotiator – Green Shipping, Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment; Chair of the IMO Working Group on Greenhouse Gas emissions (2017 – present).
