Navigating Operational Challenges in Achieving D2 Standard Compliance Online Ballast Water Webinar
The International Chamber of Shipping is hosting a webinar on ‘Navigating operational challenges in achieving D2 standard compliance’ on the Wednesday, 2 July 2025 at 09:00 to 10:15 UK Time.

The webinar will explore practical and regulatory challenges faced by key stakeholders in achieving compliance with the D2 standard of the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention.
Under the theme “Navigating Operational Challenges in achieving D2 Standard Compliance,” the session will bring together expert speakers representing Coastal States, Shipowners, Flag Administrations, and Crew to:
- Share real-world case studies, common port State control (PSC) findings, appropriate crew responses to typical operational issues;
- Highlight regulators expectations and policy strategies to mitigate non-compliance risks;
- Focus on building crew confidence in BWMS and importance of crew training;
- Reflect on shipowner responsibilities including system selection;
- Examine how Flag States can support better compliance.
The webinar is designed to encourage open dialogue, offer practical insights, and promote better alignment across the industry on achieving and maintaining D2 compliance.
