Shaping the Future of Shipping Rome Summit, June 2026

At a time of heightened geopolitical tension and ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the resilience and security of global supply chains have become critical priorities. Disruptions to key maritime routes and energy flows have exposed structural vulnerabilities in the global trading system, underscoring the need for stronger coordination between governments and industry.

The Forging Partnerships for Resilience (FPR) Summit will convene senior leaders from shipping, government, and international organisations to address these challenges and shape a more secure, sustainable, and adaptable maritime future. Central to the discussion will be the role of strategic collaboration in safeguarding trade routes, strengthening supply chain resilience, and enabling long-term investment.

Within this broader context, the Summit will also examine the development of emerging trade corridors, including the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). As a flagship initiative to enhance connectivity between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, IMEC highlights both the opportunities and the complexities of building resilient, multi-modal trade networks in an uncertain geopolitical environment.
