Maritime infrastructure and shipping are key to moving the fuels that the world consumes, with shipping transporting 36% of the world’s energy trade. The transportation of the fuels of the future will require significant adaption of the existing maritime infrastructure, and building of new bespoke facilities.

Traditionally, governments have focused on supporting the energy transition mainly through low-carbon fuel supply incentives, dismissing the importance of both demand and the related future fuel infrastructure.
