In 1961 ICS was the first shipping industry association to be granted consultative status at the UN International Maritime Organization (IMO). Since then, our secretariat has been regularly attending – and contributing to – the technical meetings. Our national association membership structure enables us to provide a well-balanced industry view, which we express through submissions.
Agenda: EVALUATION AND HARMONIZATION OF RULES AND GUIDANCE ON THE DISCHARGE OF DISCHARGE WATER FROM EGCS INTO THE AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT, INCLUDING CONDITIONS AND AREAS. Submitted by ICS
Agenda: HARMFUL AQUATIC ORGANISMS IN BALLAST WATER. Submitted by Australia, Canada, Ireland, Marshall Islands, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Republic of Korea, ICS, BIMCO, INTERTANKO, INTERCARGO and BEMA
This submission is made on behalf of ICS, the UK Chamber of Shipping, WSC, and ASA (collectively, the “Associations”), in response to the consultation on the CMA’s provisional decision not to introduce a UK-specific block exemption for liner shipping consortia on expiry of the Retained Consortia Block Exemption Regulation (“Retained CBER”).
