In 1961 ICS was the first shipping industry association to be granted consultative status at the UN International Maritime Organization (IMO). Since then, our secretariat has been regularly attending – and contributing to – the technical meetings. Our national association membership structure enables us to provide a well-balanced industry view, which we express through submissions.
Submitted by the Marshall Islands, New Zealand, ICS, BIMCO, IFSMA, IMarEST, InterManager, IPTA, RINA, IBIA and ITF, Sub-Committee on Ship Systems and Equipment, 6th Session, Agenda Item 13, December 2018.
This submission is made on behalf of the World Shipping Council (“WSC”), the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (“ECSA”), the International Chamber of Shipping (“ICS”) and the Asian Shipowners’ Association (“ASA”)1 in response to the European Commission’s public consultation regarding its evaluation of the Consortia Block Exemption Regulation.
