With pivotal climate discussions at COP26 less than a month away, industry experts from shipping and the energy sector came together at the latest ICS Leadership Insights series to discuss the commitments and challenges that will be needed to decarbonise shipping.
Over the past 100 years of shipping, vessels have been powered by sail, coal and oil and gas. Now, in response to the climate crisis, the industry has committed to decarbonise by using more efficient technologies, lower emission fuels and ultimately moving to new zero carbon fuel sources created from renewable energy. Increasing the speed and scale of the transition will be vital. Learn about what is already being done to bring into service zero- and lower-carbon ships and what is needed to increase the pace of this deployment.
This third edition was withdrawn in October 2022 and replaced by the fourth edition. Using detailed, step by step checklists, the Cyber Security Workbook for On Board Ship Use provides a ship’s Security Officer with the practical skills to identify cyber risks and to protect vulnerable onboard systems. It also gives guidance on how best to detect, respond and recover in the event of a cyber attack.
