P&I Club Correspondent Guidance from Key Loading Ports

ICS has reached out to P&I Club correspondents at high-risk Latin American ports for guidance on preventing illegal narcotics smuggling by sea. With their consent, the local advice obtained for these ports is hosted at the side of this page.

Aims of the Guidance

1. Raise awareness of shipowners as to local trends and tactics on the part of the smuggling gangs, and
2. Offer loss-prevention guidance and advice in terms of actions that shipowners may take.

You can find the guidance on the right by clicking each country tab. ICS will maintain contact with the correspondents to keep the guidance updated and will reach out to other correspondents in order to obtain guidance specific to other high risk ports across the world.
